Congratulations Children's University

Congratulations Children's University

I went along to a graduation ceremony at Edge Hill today to witness 5 schools pick up their awards.

Childrens Univeristy is an initiativ ein Sefton that allows children to collect points for learnign they do outside of school hours - this could include after school clubs or visiting museums for example. The children are given a bronze, silver or gold award depending on how many hours they have done. The graduation ceremony was fantastic as the children were all wearing graduation caps - a great acheievement for some as young as 8 and it will hopefully inspire them to keep learning.

We got involved with this scheme this year and we hope it will go from strength to strength and that famililes will use us as a destination to reach their graduation.

The ceremonies are taking place all week, but this morning, it was Ainsdale St Johns CE Primary, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary, St Elizabeths Catholic Primary, St Oswald's CE Primary and St Philips CE Primary.  Congratulations to all the children and I will look forward to the presentations next year.
