In the middle of the Bird Fair

In the middle of the Bird Fair

It is the second day of the North West Bies Watching Festival and it is very busy here at the moment. We had 1100 people in yesterday which I was really please with as we had a lot of rain after 1pm, but it meant all the talks were vey well attended and we struggled to get everyone in to see David Lindo.  It is a lovely bright day today, so hopefully these winds will ease and it will be a busy afternoon.  We always anticipate 2000 visitors for the Bird Fair which is a really nice number for everyone to get a great experience and all the exhibitors are happy.

David Lindo is such a nice guy - very down to earth and I have enjoyed chatting to him. He has signed a load of books for us so that we can sell them after the event and he even put a separate message in each one which I thought was very kind of him.  He is going straight home tonight but hopefully he will return in the future and come and visit us again.

I am taking a couple of days off next week for working all weekend, but don't forget the deadline for the autumn photography competition judging is 30 November, so a couple of days left to submit a few last minute entries.
