Opening of compost toilets
We have opened the compost toilets by the canoe safari today.
These are completely odourless and waterless toilets. There are 2 there and both are uni-sex, disabled access and baby changing. They work in a very unique way. Under each toilet is 2 compartments and each year we will swap over compartments to allow the compost a year to develop and then we can use it around the site, maybe even my garden on my vegetable patch.
We are the first Trust centre to have compost toilets and if these work well it is an ideal answer to allowing toilet facilities around other areas of the grounds.
