Rapture on the lonely shore . . .

"Pleasure in the pathless woods, rapture on the lonely shore . .” is the Lord Byron inspired title of a joint exhibition by artists, John Fairfield and Ann Bresnahan. The joint exhibition will run at The Graffan Gallery at Castle Espie from Saturday 2 to Sunday 17 April.
The joint event brings two very different mediums and subjects into the frame. John Fairfield is transported back to his roots in his early days spent on the lough shore, woods and fields in and around Killyleagh. His work details studies of animals and birds using a bright, bold and contemporary delivery.
Ann’s work focuses on expansive skies, wide open spaces and weather created vistas. She likes to experiment with brush and mark making techniques and palette knife built layers which create depth and atmosphere.
Castle Espie Wetland Centre opens from 10am daily. It is free to park, visit The Loughshore Café, the shop, Graffan Gallery and Drumlin Theatre, but normal admission applies to the grounds. When visiting the gallery, why not enjoy freshly prepared meals and snacks and browse in the shop or make a day of it and take a stroll in the wetlands.
If you join when you visit you will get your admission back. You can then avail of free access to all nine wetland centres across the UK. As a charity, Castle Espie is always looking for volunteers. If you would like more information please contact us.
