Recent Sightings - 21st January 2019

Count taken at low tide on the morning of 25/1/19.

With all the trees completely bare of leaves, this time of year is perfect for finding one of our most elusive woodland species; The Treecreeper.

Using its long claws to scale the vertical trunk, Treecreepers are often hidden away under foliage. Without their leafy cover, it’s fantastic to watch the Treecreepers distinctive foraging behaviour, “creeping up and down the tree-trunks”.

The woodland next to the limestone lake lookout and the old gunpowder store is a great place to see them.
