Trout for lunch
Our male osprey 08 brought in a good sized trout for lunch today. He landed on the nest to show his mate then flew to the tree nearby to eat the head. He then brought the rest back to the nest for the female. He was a bit reluctant to give it up but after a tug of the wing she wrestled it from him and flew off to eat the remainder.
Much lighter winds today which make for better conditions for mating attempts which was proving very difficult yesterday.
We are sorry that there will be no images from the nest tomorrow morning and early afternoon as we will have no power at the centre due to essential repairs by SP Energy in the parish. We hope to be back on at around 4pm.
