Walking around and new uniforms

There is so much happening at the centre at the moment:

On 21 March we will be officially launching our new WWT uniforms and I will put a picture on this blog on 21st of the new selection which I hope you will all like and comment on.

I have also been round the grounds with the Director of Trading looking at the position of the new kiosk at the canoe safari and making sure the shape and design is correct to ensure we don't have queues. We also have a kiosk in the play area so we have had a good look at ensuring the signage is right and that we are promoting where you can get ice cream over the summer.

The Buffleheads are now out in the Waterfall pen - this is the first time we have had these birds so it is a great new edition for our visitors and aviculture team. We have also moved the Bewick swans from their pen to swan lake so that they can be viewed whilst you sit outside on the cafe balcony.

There are still 1,300 Whoopers here and 500+ Pinkfeet, although numbers of swans should drop quite quickly over the next week or so as the migration back to Iceland begins but I am pleased to say that the spring waders increasing steadily with 50+ avocets on the reserve.
