Help find the missing ducks this Easter

Children visiting WWT’s Wetland Centres this Easter are being asked to keep their eyes out for some rather special ducks.

A number of GIANT yellow ducks have gone missing and WWT’s own Dusty Duck is asking children to help him in Dusty’s GIANT Duck Hunt.

Children can pick up an activity sheet on arrival which will take them on a fun hunt around the wetland centre grounds. Those who track down all the GIANT yellow ducks will receive an edible treat, and there will be fun Easter arts and crafts for all.

Hannah Clifford from WWT said:

“WWT’s wildlife wardens are great at counting up all the baby ducklings, goslings and cygnets waddling around WWT’s Wetland Centres at Easter. But for some reason they keep missing these cheeky GIANT yellow rubber ducks – so come along to your local wetland centre and help us find them!”

Dusty Duck is WWT’s new children’s character, exclusively designed by the world-famous Aardman studios.

This year, for the first time, Dusty is joining our annual GIANT duck hunt.  He’s helping children use their detective skills to track down the elusive GIANT yellow birds that have hidden themselves around the Wetland Centres.

Dusty’s GIANT Duck Hunt takes place at all nine WWT Wetland Centres. More information is available at wwt.org.uk/giantducks.

As well as the GIANT duck hunt, WWT Wetland Centres also have a range of other family activities during the Easter holidays, including the giant LEGO® brick animal trail at Washington Wetland Centre and the giant Celebrity Dusty Duck trail at London Wetland Centre, crafts, den building and pond dipping.  Activities vary at each centre.  For a full range of Easter holiday activities at your nearest WWT Wetland Centre click here: wwt.org.uk/visit.
