Fish for lunch
For most of the morning our female osprey was sitting on the nest. She started calling to her mate just after 1pm then he came in at 1.20pm with a fish for her which she duly flew off with to scoff. He then took over on the nest till she returned. There i

Sunshine at last on the nest
Today has been sunny but there is still a chilly wind from the west which has been ruffling the feathers of the birds on the nest. We saw the male bird come in this morning with a fish for his mate which she took off to eat as usual and he took his turn

All going well at the nest

A scan from The Farmhouse Tower today would indicate that the Barnacle Geese have finally left us. 40 could be found yesterday, 800 on Sunday past. Two Whooper Swans do remain on The Floodground though. Golden Plovers are still coming through, resplende

Three eggs on the nest and all going well
The third egg was laid on Saturday the 27th April and all looks to be well on the nest. This morning the male brought in a fish and took over on the eggs while his mate flew off to feed on the tree nearby. He seems very willing to tke his turn on the egss
