Greenland white-fronted goslings hatch at WWT Martin Mere

WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre, Burscough, is pleased to announce that the Greenland white-fronted geese that call Martin Mere home have successfully hatched two goslings.

The adorable pair hatched one month ago, and are now back in their habitat near the Weird or Wonderful section.

In the wild, white-fronted geese do not breed in the UK but migrate here during the winter. The female will lay 5-6 eggs, which take around 22-17 days to hatch.

When they hatch, they are covered with a yellow and brownish down and will leave their nest in 24 hours.

Visitors can see the goslings during their visit by heading to their habitat which is after Weird or Wonderful, near to the southern screamers. Book your tickets.
