Chilean flamingos

ℹ️ Flamingos off show
Our flock of Chilean flamingos is currently being housed indoors. This is a temporary measure as a precaution to local avian influenza (bird flu).
We don't know how long this will last but we'll let you know as soon as they are safe to be back outdoors!
Thanks for your understanding.

Basking common darter

While trying to get a photo of the elusive black darter yesterday morning, our reserve warden John got this nice shot of a common darter.

It was basking on the boardwalk down at the amphibian ponds, which John and his team of volunteers have been working hard on redeveloping and extending over the past few months.

We’re busy sorting out some new information boards and are still working on making it a bit more accessible, but if you haven’t visited that corner of the wildlife reserve for a while it is well worth a look :-)
