Tracking the arrivals
More Pink-footed Geese have arrived/are arriving with 5500+ counted early afternoon. If you want to track some of the Pink-footed Geese, WWT Monitoring have set up a site which updates the satellite telemetry on a number of goose species.

This incoming data has proved for the first time that Pink-footed Geese fly directly to Lancashire from Iceland non-stop, amazing!
Mostly about the geese today but the lighter winds seem to have encouraged some raptor movement. An Osprey flew through the reserve late morning, at least 4 Marsh Harrier present, 7+ Buzzard possibly many more as birds were high, 3+ Kestrel and 3 Sparrowhawk.
Similar waders to yesterday, check the Mere or from Ron Barker Hide.
A Lesser Whitethroat was seen in the Janet Kear Hide/Harrier Hide area, a passage migrant here.
An Otter was seen again this afternoon in front of the Ron Barker Hide.
