• Or keep your feet dry on our wildflower meadow trail, alive with butterflies and buzzing.

Wet Meadow Adventure FAQs

How deep is the sunken walkway?

The water is very shallow, only up to 6cm deep, so little feet can splash safely.

Will I get wet?

Only your feet will go into the water on the watery route. If you'd like to stay dry, wellies are a great idea, or you can take the dry meadow trail instead.

Is the Wet Meadow included with my ticket or membership?

Yes! The Wet Meadow is included with every admission ticket or WWT membership, so there’s no extra cost.

When is the Wet Meadow open?

The wet meadow area is open all year round. Wildlife is busiest between May and August, when wildflowers bloom and the meadow is buzzing with insects.

Where can I find the Wet Meadow?

It’s located near Mere Tun (the Viking Village) and close to our common cranes. Look out for the signs pointing the way.

Is the Wet Meadow wheelchair and pushchair friendly?

Absolutely. Both the sunken walkway and the meadow path are wheelchair and pushchair accessible, so everyone can join the adventure.
