Brand new this summer, take on WWT Martin Mere's incredible stretch of stepping stones as part of our Wet Meadow & Self-Guided Bug Hunting Area.
Built with an impressive 68 metres across the water and a total of 143 individual stones, it is believed to be the longest stretch of continuous stepping stones in Europe, making it an unforgettable experience right here in Lancashire.
And the adventure doesn't stop there. As you reach the end of the stepping stones, choose your next path with a dry route through colourful wildflowers and buzzing intersections, or a wet route to immerse yourself in the water through a unique sunken walkway.
Then, pick up an identification chart to see what miniature wildlife you can find living within our wetlands as part of a self-guided bug hunt. Will you discover a dazzling dragonfly, a hidden woodlouse, or maybe a centipede?
