Big tides, great birding...

Peng Observatory/Rushy Pen Hide

The two Little Grebe, fishing Kingfisher (favours Scott House gutters and Swan pipe), Wigeon. 10 Snipe, 6 Ruff and 70 Teal.

Robbie Garnett Hide

70 Teal.

Holden Tower

3 Yellow Wagtail among the cattle, 2 Peregrine on the edge of the Dumbles and 2 Knot and 2 Grey Plover on the mud on the incoming tide. 2 Golden Plover flew around but were reluctant to settle. 105 Curlew roosted over high tide.

South Lake

90 Lapwing, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Curlew Sandpiper, 6 Ruff, 160 Black-tailed Godwit, 20 Redshank, 12 Snipe, 5 Pintail, 120 Shoveler and 1 Pochard. The Deep Lake held Tufted Ducks and Great Crested Grebes.

Great birding over high tide

185 Wigeon grazing the lawns, 18 Pintail (also among the Shelduck on the estuary), 98 Dunlin, 2 juvenile Little Stints, 2 Grey Plover, 3 Knot, 1 Green Sandpiper, 11 Ruff, 21 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 8 Ringed Plover were on the the flood, Reed Bunting and Cetti's Warbler active in the reeds.
