Rushy Pen Hide

A juvenile Little Grebe continues to fish the top lake, we only seem them rarely at this site. A few Snipe, Gadwall and Shoveler were also on the top pond. The lower pond held a Common Sandpiper, 3 Green Sandpiper, 39 Teal and a few Lapwing.

Robbie Garnett Hide

A flock of Teal and Shoveler are present.

Knott Hide/Holden Tower

Lesser and Common Whitethroat juveniles, Chiffchaffs, Kestrel and 5+ Robin, one or two of the latter in song. On the pool 2 Green Sandpiper, 7 Teal and the female Wigeon. Two juvenile Peregrine were scrapping over the Tack Piece early morning with 2 Crane on the Tack Piece. A few Blackcap and a Garden Warbler fed in the bushes. Patience usually rewards the watcher with views of the warbler species.

South Lake

The wader scrape held a Greenshank, 106 Lapwing, 2 Ruff, 141 Black-tailed Godwit, 20 Redshank, 2 Mandarin, a Pintail, flocks of Shoveler and Teal, the Deep lake had a male Mandarin and a Kingfisher as well as commoner duck and the Great Crested Grebe and well grown 'stripe headed' chick.

Zeiss Hide/Top New Piece

105 Lapwing, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, Kingfisher, 7 Ruff, 21 Redshank over 500 Teal (at least 665 from the hides today) and the usual array of wildfowl. Three Greenshank were on the Bottom New Piece.
