POMARINE SKUA
At 13.30 a Skua flew in and landed on the top New Piece (Zeiss Hide) It spent around 15 mins bathing and preening before flying towards the Dumbles. The visitors who first spotted the bird managed to get some excellent photographs. It was then reported to us and we managed to catch up with it sat on the Dumbles. It was a adult POMARINE SKUA. It remained around the Dumbles all afternoon and was seen to roost on the river at dusk. This is a very rare bird in Gloucestershire and Slimbridge.
