The rain held off, just

Its been a pleasant day today with the rain not arriving until 4pm as forecast thankfully at the end of the Wild Safari.  Species seen on today's trip including 2 Hobby, a Common Tern, several Little Egret and Swifts, distant views of the Short-eared Owl and 4 Grass Snakes and a Pygmy Shrew under the tins in the reedbed.

South Lake Hides

Waders on the scrape included 2 juvenile and 15 adult Ruff, 99 Black-tailed Godwit, a Green Sandpiper, 4 Snipe, 31 Redshank and 2 Dunlin.

Zeiss Hide

A less productive high tide with only 122 Dunlin, a Ruff and 70+ Lapwing.  Also seen were 2 Buzzard, 105 Barnacle Geese and the Crane family in Bottom New Piece.

Rushy Hide

On the lower pond were 3 Green Sandpiper, 5 Avocet, 2 Snipe, an adult Ruff and a Grey Heron.

Robbie Garnett Hide

A juvenile Ruff was on the scrape with 5 Black-tailed Godwit and 3 Green Sandpiper.
