Today's highlights

A busy scene from the Knott Hide this morning, 41 Gadwall, 14 Black-tailed Godwit, 5 Teal and a Kingfisher as well as the usual warblers and Moorhens. The Gadwall are feeding upon the aquatic weeds. An influx of Teal resulted in 400+ being counted on the scrapes.

Rushy Hide

Little-ringed Plover, 10 Lapwing, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Ruff, 30 Coot and 50 Teal all present this morning, the bird numbers do change during the day.

Holden Tower

Redstart, Lesser and Common Whitethroat and Willow Warbler were among the passerines. A Peregrine Falcon was on the Dumbles.

Middle Point

Two Wheatear on the fences, 10 Ringed Plover, a Sanderling and Dunlin seen on the mudflats at low tide.

South Lake

132 Black-tailed Godwit, 27 Redshank, 46 Lapwing, 9+ Ruff with 2 Green Sandpiper, 8 Snipe from the Hogarth Hide.

Zeiss Hide

36 Lapwing (on the lawn adjacent to Van de Bovenkamp Hide), 232 Teal with 50+ in the Bottom New Piece, 35+ Shoveler, 1 Redshank, Little Grebe and 9 Tufted Ducks.

Landrover safari highlights

Grass Snakes, Kingfisher, 3 Whinchat, 7 Willow Warbler, Red Kite, 5 Buzzard, 3 Kestrel, Hobby, 2 Pochard, brood of Little Grebe and two Roe Deer.
