Today's sightings

Holden Tower

A very high tide today saw the Dumbles flood up onto the seawall. It covered the cattle trough for those that know this feature as a height measure.

Large numbers of Common Gull fed on the flotsam and jetsam, the only gull of note was an adult breeding plumaged Mediterranean Gull (same as last Sunday). A few Buzzard patrolled the tide line for escaping voles. The 2 Avocet made an appearance along with 7 Oystercatcher.

Only 38 E White-fronted Geese were seen so perhaps more of the flock have departed. The Dark-bellied Brent Goose flew from Frampton on Severn with the Barnacle Goose flock which numbered 139. The Dunlin have now moved onto the silt rich Dumbles to feed along with 2 Little Stint. Lapwing are again displaying over the Dumbles.
