Today's sightings

No sightings of the Purple Heron again today.

Zeiss Hide

Marsh Harrier- the rather scruffy female is still about and a new in immature male has arrived, both seen from here and on the landrover safari this afternoon.

Over the high tide period (which is not particularly high and getting lower this week) a few waders appeared. 4 juvenile Red Knot, 7 Greenshank and two Spotted Redshank (juvenile and new in adult) were seen among the Redshank. At least 4 Ruff were also present as well as Snipe and the usual Black-tailed Godwits. A small flock of waders flew around at midday, two Little Stint among them but they returned to the estuary. The Teal flock has risen to 1415!

Holden Tower/Middle Point

A male Redstart was near the pillbox, three Wheatear and a Stonechat on Middle Point fence. 7 Avocet, 9 Grey Plover, 30 Ringed Plover and 10 Dunlin were seen over the tide. 6 Cranes were on the Dumbles.

South Lake

The Black Tern flew in during the morning, Lapwing, Black-tailed Godwit and Teal were on the scrape.

Knott Hide

Reed Warbler, Cetti's Warbler, Blackcaps, Chiffchaff and Goldcrests.

Landrover safari

Great views of the Crane family, a Spotted Flycatcher, 2 Marsh Harriers, Hobby, Buzzard, Kestrels and 3 Kingfishers.
