Today's sightings

Holden Tower

A flock of 27 White-fronted Geese were on The Dumbles this morning with the Greylag and Canada flock.  Also out on the floodwater were 500+ Wigeon, 50+ Golden Plover, 7 Ruff, 8 Dunlin, 10+ Shelduck, 80+ Pintail whilst a Peregrine and a Marsh Harrier.

Kingfisher Hide

Out on the Bottom New Piece scrape were the Spotted Redshank amongst 150+ Lapwing and 4 Ruff.  The Spotted Redshank has been occasionally flipping over to the Zeiss Hide when disturbed by a Peregrine so check both hides for this bird.  Also on view were 5 Snipe.  A Great Spotted Woodpecker was along the path to the hide and on the pool were 2 Little Grebe.

South Lake Hide

The flock of Black-tailed Godwit numbered 295 birds this morning, but only 8 Redshank were hidden amongst them.  Over 200 Lapwing are also present along with 41 Shoveler and 5 Pochard.

Zeiss Hide

Keep an eye out for the Spotted Redshank here.  Also present are 31 Dunlin, a single Ruff, 20 Redshank and several hundred Lapwing.  High Tide today may push a few more birds in later this morning.

Rushy Hide

A nice selection of ducks on the Rushy this morning giving good views including Pochard, Pintail, Tufted Duck and Shelduck.  A single Redshank was with a small flock of Lapwing.
