A misty start to the day which cleared and turned into a nice sunny, warm one. The gulls have been circling the centre catching flies all day and Mediterranean Gulls could be seen and heard from 1100-1630 hrs at least. New in today was a Common Sandpiper on the Rushy Pen. Still lots of Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler, a further increase in Blackcap and Sedge Warbler. Four Wheatear were along the Severn foreshore. At least 42 Avocet were on the scrapes with 153 Black-tailed Godwit and a Ruff. Grey Plover was heard over the estuary and at lunchtime there was a light northward passage of Linnet and alba Wagtails.
