Today's sightings-Chilly!

Another overnight frost froze shallow waters and has caused the waders to move onto the estuary. It should thaw fairly rapidly during this morning. The cold snap has increased numbers of Bewick's Swans (49 at the Rushy Pen roost) this morning.

52 European and 5 Greenland White-fronted Geese were among the Greylag Goose flock this morning.

Zeiss Hide

Black-tailed Godwits, Teal and Dunlin were all present on the ice free zones of the flood.

Rushy Pen

Very busy with wildfowl including 49 Bewick's Swans (three families).

Big Pen

The first winter female Greater Scaup was still among Tufted Ducks and Eiders. Nearby a Chiffchaff called from bushes adjacent to the Andean Flamingo House.

Holden Tower

Marsh Harrier- a female came in and circled the Dumbles.
