Today's sightings- Glossy still
The 2 juvenile Glossy Ibis on the South Lake this morning by JSLeesWWT
GLOSSY IBIS
The 2 GLOSSY IBIS have been roosting most nights on the South Lake wader scrape. They tend to arrive around 16.30ish and can be viewed from the Discovery Hide. Present all night the birds tend to leave the roost just after 7am although today they stayed till 7.34am. Each day the head in a SE direction to feed in fields the other side of the canal. Our reserve warden has been out this morning trying to locate their diurnal feeding area but had no success. A small group of visitors joined our warden to view the birds this morning, keep an eye on our Twitter feed for more information @slimbridge_wild. With only 4 records in the last 70 years they are still a very rare sight in Gloucestershire.
