Today's sightings-Marsh Harrier returns?

South Lake

Ruff- 3 'new in' males, dark plumaged birds in moult.
Black-tailed Godwit 70+ including a colour ringed bird
Redshank 50+,  a few juveniles among them.
Oystercatcher 2
Lapwing 30
Dunlin 5
Teal 7

Rushy Pen

Avocet- 5 adults attending 7 nearly fledged young. Green Sandpiper 1+, Teal 1 + a variety of breeding wildfowl.

Crane 2 GCP and Green Sandpiper 10 until a juvenile Peregrine came in a buzzed the scrape.

Zeiss Hide

Still around 40 Avocet, 20 Teal, 4 Redshank, 4 Black-tailed Godwit and a few Dunlin present. 4 Swift were feeding over with Swallows, Sand and House Martins.

Landrover Safari's

Good weather allowed two excursions where we recorded Cranes, Marsh Harrier, Hobby, Garganey, Shoveler, Gadwall, Common Tern, Little Egret, Curlew, Dunlin, Roe Deer, Field Vole, Common and Ruddy Darter, Migrant and Brown Hawker.
