Great Reed Warbler - new for Slimbridge!

Great Reed Warbler - 1st reserve record, third for Gloucestershire. Male singing initially at the back of the Top New Piece but moved along ditch and relocated to the Knott Hide. It sang and showed here to 1230 at least. We have arranged special late opening for WWT members only at 6pm and 7pm. It will be an escorted walk with a warden to the Knott Hide/Holden Tower. Hides will close at 8pm. Please have membership cards available, thank you and good luck, we hope you see or at least hear it. Note the grounds will remain closed, access to these hides only. Meet in the car park.

Holden Tower

Avocet- 2 pairs with 4 chicks each. The other pairs have walked young to Top New Piece.
Lapwing- pair with 4 chicks on scrape, 8 pairs still out on saltmarsh
Dunlin, Ringed Plover and Sanderling on the estuary at high tide
