Water levels on the up

Another night of rain kept the levels up, the wader flocks remained on site with some moving to the estuary.

Rushy Pen

A juvenile Little-ringed Plover, 2 Redshank, 40 Black-tailed Godwit and up to 15 Green Sandpiper on the lower pond today.

Tack Piece

Three Green Sandpiper and three Little-ringed Plover (adult and two juveniles). Two Sedge Warbler joined two Reed Warbler in the reeds/fenceline, by the end of the day that it seems that a fall or local movement of the former species had occurred, I noted 20+ juveniles about the site.

South Lake

At least six Ruff, 70+ Black-tailed Godwit, 40+ Redshank, 40+ Lapwing and a couple of Oystercatcher were on the scrape. A few Teal, Shoveler and Gadwall were also among the ducks species. On the deeper lake a couple of Wigeon and a Pochard were seen. The gull flock is building up again, a nice adult Mediterranean Gull was among them. The Crane family continued to show well today.
