Egg to Duckling Exhibition
Discover the different stages from egg to duckling, running from 21 March to 1 June, in our Exhibition Hall.
This fascinating exhibition takes you behind the scenes of how our birds are cared for, with a variety of displays designed to show each stage of the process. You’ll find interactive props including a nest mock-up, indoor and outdoor duckling pens, and a candling video demonstrating how our team checks the development of eggs using light.
A series of informative display boards will guide you through everything from courtship and nesting behaviour to incubation, hatching, and what happens as the ducklings grow.
At Martin Mere, eggs are carefully collected from our collection of waterfowl and raised in our dedicated Duckling Nursery, where they are kept safe and healthy during the early stages of their life. This exhibition offers a unique look at how our skilled team of aviculturists nurture and care for these birds, giving them the best possible start in life.
There will be no live eggs or ducklings in this exhibition. Included as part of your admission tickets or WWT membership.
