Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Latest Sightings

There have been quite a few marsh harrier sightings this week, with at least 6 having been spotted. Three juvenile kingfishers can now be seen at Ron Barker hide. We have had more and more reports coming in of water vole sightings on our Canoe Safari, along with the usual sedge, reed, and Cetti's warblers. A tawny owl was seen today in the wildflower meadow between Gladstone and Janet Kear hides. Also at Janet Kear on Saturday was a siskin perched on one of its feeders. A male garganey was spotted at Rees hide this week as well.

At 5pm on Friday last week a corncrake was spotted: one flushed on Reedbed Walk then landed in yellow flag irises mid-way to Rees hide.
