Autumn SEND Days
Join us for a day of activities specially designed for children and young people with different needs and their families and friends.
Explore the wetlands at your own pace and get involved with a variety of nature-based events.
Dates: Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October
Our seasonal SEND day programming includes:
- Drop-in Bewick's swan researcher activities in Arctic Adventure, 10am to 4pm
- Nature crafts in the Art Hub, 10am to 4pm
- Quiet and Calm pond dipping in the Pond Zone, 10:30am to 11:30am
- Quiet and calm storytime in the Pond Zone, 11:30am
- Flamingo talk at Flaming Lagoon, time TBC
- Silent disco in the Estuary Shoreline event space, 2pm to 3pm
- Pond dipping in the Pond Zone, 2pm to 3pm
- Storytime in the Pond Zone, 3pm
- Sensory space in North America, open all day

Tickets to this event are limited, so please book in advance. Wristbands will be provided for exclusive access to the SEND Day activities.
All activities are included in your ticket—once you've collected your wristband from Admissions, just pop along and join whichever sessions take your fancy!
You will also have access to a range of talks and tours as part of our regular programming. More information about these can be found here.
Entry to this event includes admission to the site. Prices are as follows:
- Adult (18+): 1 free adult per booking, additional adults: £13.35
- Carer: 1 free carer per booking
- Young person (16-18): £11.25
- Junior (3-15): £8.20
- Under 3: free
- Member: WWT members go free but must still book a ticket. Please be prepared to show your membership card alongside your ticket on arrival.

Are any of the sessions quiet and calm?
Storytime at 11:30am and pond dipping at 10:30 are quiet and calm sessions.
Can I book for a group?
We would love to welcome visitors in groups. For parties of more than 10 people, please email us at info.slimbridge@wwt.org.uk to book.
Are you able to accommodate more than one carer?

What ages are the activities suitable for?
All ages are welcome at all the SEND Day activities.
Do you have a pre-visit guide?
A pre-visit guide will be emailed to you between booking and the start of the event.
How can I avoid queuing on arrival?
Typically our busy period at admissions is between 10.30 and 12.30, with higher visitation numbers at weekends. If you have any concerns regarding queuing, please email us and we will do our best to accommodate.

Can I arrive before the SEND Day activities start?
Yes, you are welcome to access the site from 9:30am, which is when we open to the public.
