Free Teacher Discovery Day
Come and find out what a trip to Slimbridge Wetland Centre could look like for your learners.
We’re offering teachers and their families the opportunity to explore our wetlands for free this October half term.
Date: Wednesday 28 October
Times: 10-11am or 1-2pm, with time to explore either side
Meeting point: The Pond Zone
Spaces for each session are limited, so please email education.slimbridge@wwt.org.uk to book in advance.
At the taster session you'll be able to:
- Sample our hands-on learning sessions: Brilliant Bird Adaptations, Water Cycle, Wetlands and Me, Wetland Wonders, and Wetlands for Wellbeing
- Take the opportunity to ask our fantastic Learning team lots of questions
- Have a go at pond dipping
- See our resources
- Collect a free goodie bag
Before or after your pre-booked session you can:
- Explore the centre and see what we have to offer
- Take nature photos to use in your own classroom
- Attend a range of free talks and activities
- Discover our SUPER Natural October half term activities

Terms and conditions:
- Maximum two teachers per school.
- To qualify for free entry, you must be a teacher currently working at a school or college with a registered DfE number. Please bring one of the following forms of ID with you along with your prebooked tickets:
- A valid school or college photo ID badge
- A recent payslip or letter from your school confirming your employment (along with photo ID)
- Teachers and their families (themselves, one additional adult, and up to six children) will be admitted free of charge.
- Your reservation is only valid for the timed session you have booked. Please arrive on site in time to reach the meeting point for the start of your session (10am or 1pm).
