Can your little elves help the Slimbridge Swans save Christmas?

This Christmas, join a magical family adventure at WWT Slimbridge and help save the festive season. Follow the enchanting 'How the Slimbridge Swans Saved Christmas' story trail, spot wow-facts and jokes alongside Santa's elves, and discover what makes WWT Slimbridge so special in winter. Along the way, enjoy festive crafts, get creative with Christmas-themed activities and make memories together on a fun-filled seasonal day out in Gloucestershire.

Perfect for families with children, this interactive Christmas experience combines storytelling, nature and hands-on festive fun, all set within the beautiful wetlands of WWT Slimbridge.

When is the story trail running?

Dates: Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December, Saturday 19, Sunday 20, Monday 21, Tuesday 22, Wednesday 23 December

Tickets: included with admission or WWT membership.

Gather round to hear Waterlily the elf’s story, How the Slimbridge Swans Saved Christmas. Throughout the day in the cinema.

Character trail

Explore the wetlands with your Little Book of Joy, spotting animal characters from the story (and their best cracker jokes).

Elf workshop

Step into Cuddle the elf’s magical workshop and make your very own willow star to take home for your tree (for free) – just like the gift from Santa to Lottie in the story!

Resident wetland animals

As you spot the characters you’ll also meet some real-life frogs, swans, flamingos, mice and an otter. 

Add on a visit to Santa's Wetland Wonderland grotto

Meet Santa inside his twinkly grotto and receive a very special gift: Lottie the otter, straight from our enchanting Christmas story and trail.
