4 Great White Egrets

A single Glossy ibis was around the barns near the canal first thing.

Tack Piece

Highlight so far today have been the 4 Great White Egrets that were in the Tack piece and have now dispersed around the site, 3 Little Egret were with them also Shoveler 25, Pintail 3, Teal 23, Wigeon 5, Avocet 8 and Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff and Blackcap were singing along the walkway. A Tawny Owl was seen from the bridge to the Martin Smith hide in a large Ivy clad Ash tree to the south.

Estuary Tower

There were 9 Avocet in the scrape, 21 Curlew on the estuary and a distant Peregrine on the cross fence.

Rushy

Lots of Little Ringed Plover activity and some good close views and the pair scraping. Alsoa pair of Oystercatcher, 12 avocet a Redshank and 3 Black tailed Godwit, 17 TeaL, 2 female Wigeon and the hybrid male.

Zeiss Hide

Wigeon 1, Teal 38, Black tailed Godwit 28, Avocet 38, Redshank 5 busy displaying and prospecting, lapwing 12 and a full summer plumaged pair of Little Grebe.

Kingfisher Hide

Both Kingfishers active around nesting bank. A pair of Cranes were in the ploughed field and Lapwing and Redshank active in the wet Grassland. Blackcap, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff and Cettis were singing along the walkway
