67 species...

On the advanced birding session this morning I was reliably informed by one attendee that was diligent enough to take notes that we had recorded 67 species of bird from 0800-midday.

Holden Tower

Over high tide...

55 Shelduck, 200 Wigeon, 10 Pintail, 9 Grey Plover, 4 Golden Plover, 2 Red Knot and c20 Dunlin.

Rushy Pen Hide

Redshank 2, Black-tailed Godwit 2 and a Little Grebe.

South Lake

Over high tide we noted 59 Red Knot, 6 Ruff, 200+ Black-tailed Godwit, 10 Redshank, 2 Snipe, Curlew Sandpiper, 13 Dunlin and an Avocet, the latter bird moved to the Top New Piece. Among the Tufted Ducks there were 8 Pochard and a Little Grebe.

Zeiss Hide/Top New Piece

The Avocet, 100+ Lapwing, 1 Dunlin, 2 Golden Plover, adult Spotted Redshank and 8 Redshank were among the Teal and Wigeon flocks.
