A flush of juvenile waders

Rushy

Very busy here with great views of the Wood Sandpiper and 2 adult Greenshank. there was also a single Black Tailed Godwit and 2 Snipe. A family of 4 Grey Wagtails were around the edges and on the office roof. Watch out for two Garganey that dropped onto the top pond yesterday afternoon.

Holden Tower

A good high tide this morning but a good mixed flock of waders including Grey Plover, Knot and Turnstone appear to have moved on overnight leaving around 70 Dunlin, 12 Ringed Plover and a Sanderling among the 40 or so Curlew. A Peregrine killed a Pigeon on the sea wall and a second bird was around as well.

Zeiss Hide

Teal still increasing with 170 here today, only a hand full of waders including a single juvenile Ruff a Black Tailed Godwit and 60 Lapwings.

South Lake

The Black Tailed Godwit Flock numbered 128 and are close enough to pick out some newly arrived juveniles. There were also 17 Redshank and another 5 juvenile Ruff. I could hear a Greenshank calling that may have been behind the island.
