Zeiss Hide
Generally quiet perhaps because a female Merlin was perched for some time over looking the scrape. A very fine pair of Golden Plover one in full summer plumage were in the bottom New Piece with a few male Lapwing trying to convince the females to start laying, only one incubating so far.

South Lake
Cold hunched flocks of Avocet (78) and Black Tailed Godwit (67) on the scrape, a Common Sandpiper along the causeway and around 40 Sand Martin and 5 Swallows over the Lake.

Winter Wildfowl
Still 100 Shoveler scattered around the site hopefully some of these will be breeding birds. Wigeon are down just 20 and Teal to 46.
