Curlew Sandpiper on South Lake

Our first Curlew Sandpiper of the year kept company with four Dunlin on the South Lake wader scrape for a time today.

South Lake

Pair of Little-ringed Plover, nesting Cranes, 46 Black-tailed Godwit, 9 Avocet, 4 Oystercatcher, adult n/b plumage Mediterranean Gull with the Black-headed Gulls and a Common Sandpiper.

Tack Piece

Four Common Sandpiper, 2 Egyptian and the Snow Goose with a Greylag, 3 Avocet on the flood, a drake Wigeon, Sand Martins and Swallows over the Goose House and the singing Lesser Whitethroat also there.

Estuary Tower

Dumbles- 3 Curlew, Lapwing.

Middle Point

Two female Wheatear on the fence and the male White-spotted Bluethroat singing and showing briefly.

Estuary

10 Dunlin and 5 Ringed Plover plus 15 Shelduck on the mudflats.

Top New Piece

Pair of Redshank, nesting Crane, 17 Avocet, 50 Black-tailed Godwit, 7 drake 2 duck Shoveler, Lapwing, 2 Oystercatcher + singing Reed and Sedge Warblers. Osprey reported over S this afternoon.
