Dueling Bitterns

Two Bitterns back on view today

A fog bound morning no sightings to report until after 10:30am

At around 12;45pm two Bitterns appeared from cover and were seen interacting, this is most likely to be a territorial dispute as they set up perimeters and defend them. Although they have been showing regularly during the autumn we had a 'dry' period with no sightings for a week or so, with any luck we may see more behaviour from these two birds in the coming weeks.

Other sightings from here today include, Little Grebe, Little Stint with the Dunlin, a Great White Egret, flocks of Lapwing and a few Ruff as well as the Teal flock. The Ross's Goose was seen with the Barnacle Goose flock.
