First Redwings of the autumn...

With the easterly airflow and now being October we saw the first 4 Redwing of the autumn flying over the visitor centre. The Black-tailed Godwit flock on site has increased to 372, a single Siskin and Greenfinch were on the move over Middle Point.

Peregrine and 13 Cranes arriving on the Dumbles late morning to day roost.

South Lake

A flock of at least 27 Red Knot were among 359 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Ruff, 45 Lapwing, 10 Redshank and 2 Snipe were also on the wader scrape. At least 90 Tufted Duck were on the Deep lake section.

Over the high tide there were 2 Dunlin, 1 Golden Plover, 1 Spotted Redshank, 12 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Snipe, 12 Redshank, 90 Lapwing and 1000+ Teal.

Bottom New Piece

A party of 10 Curlew and 15 Lapwing fed in the field.
