Glossy Ibis reported
A Glossy Ibis was reported and photographed from the Hogarth Hide this afternoon but wasn't present at 4.15pm. Hopefully it will decided to spend some time on the reserve and make the most of the warm sunshine and calm conditions.
Rushy Hide
Only 16 Bewick's Swans were at the 0800 feed and 2 at 4.00pm but 39 eventually settled together on the Dumbles for the day.
South Lake
92 Dunlin, 30 Lapwing, 41 Avocet, 72 Black-tailed Godwit, 6 Snipe, 3-5 Oystercatcher, 1 Redshank, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 67 Pochard and 10 Cormorants were counted.
Zeiss Hide/Top Piece
2-3 Lapwing were displaying and nest scraping this morning, 222 were counted later when the fog lifted.1 Ruff, 2 Oystercatcher, 94 Golden Plover, 305 Dunlin and 5 Redshank were on the flood and fields.
Two Great Spotted Woodpeckers were drumming/competing in the Spinney Wood.
Duck Decoy
Two Siskin flew over from the visitor centre and were feeding in Alder trees.
Holden Tower
Two Peregrine, at least 92 E. White-fronted Geese, 102 Shelduck and lots of singing Skylark on the Dumbles.
Willow/Knott Hide
Two Water Rail and two Little Grebe.
