Car Park Works Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th March

During these dates, parking spaces may be restricted to allow contractors to safely and effectively carry out line painting. Please be mindful that diversions may be in place, and accessible parking spaces may be temporarily relocated to other suitable areas during the works. At times, access to the site may be via the Orchard car park. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Kingfishers feeding young

Zeiss Hide

Reed Bunting and Warblers close to the hide. 19 adult Avocet and at least 5 youngsters, Redshank 54, Black tailed Godwit 43, Shelduck broods of 6 and 7 youngsters, Ruff 1, Dunlin 3, Little Grebe and mixed flock of moulting ducks.

Kingfisher Hide

Has been very busy here with adults bringing lots of fish into the nest burrow. A calling Great Spotted Woodpecker and Heron here as well.

Rushy

Little Ringed plover, just 1 adult, seem to have given up on incubating.
Green Sandpiper 2
Avocet, at least 12 adults, probably a few incubating birds hidden in tall vegetation and at least 10 very fat younsters.
Oystercatcher 2

South Lake

Little Ringed Plover, the incubating pair and another adult and a fledged youngster (not from here unfortunately).

Black Tailed Godwit 141
Redshank 2
Gadwall 127 moulting birds.
