Car Park Works Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th March

During these dates, parking spaces may be restricted to allow contractors to safely and effectively carry out line painting. Please be mindful that diversions may be in place, and accessible parking spaces may be temporarily relocated to other suitable areas during the works. Marsh Harrier

Estuary Tower

Marsh Harrier to north also 2 buzzards and a kestrel. The pinkfeet were on the lower Dumbles and whitefront flock away to north. There were 230 wigeon close on the Dumbles scrape and 100s more on the estuary with at least 60 pintail, good to see a nice flock of teal close to the left hand side of the tower. Lots of lapwing and dunlin over the Dumbles and a flock of over 200 Curlew building on the high tide roost, similarly GBB number increasing, 37 there so far.

Tack Piece

Wigeon 700, the flock of redshank and ruff are showing well from Robbie Garnett hide. Lots of curlew (70) in the field this morning and around 150 dunlin. Three snipe at Martin Smith hide and 2 Water rail and a great spotted woodpecker at Willow hide.

South Lake

Shoveler an impressive 105 it really has been a good year for this species, pochard, tufted, shelduck and teal as well. two egyptian geese were there as well and the blackwit flock numbered 282 with just 1 snipe and 255 lapwing.

Rushy

Bewicks 72 overnight including some new birds, shelduck 96, Pochard 69 and pintail 47. Lapwing 40 and 4 Snipe.

Zeiss Hide

Wigeon 385, dunlin 200, over 600 teal being stirred up by 5 GBB gulls. Both cettis and water rail were calling in the reed bed but no sign of bittern yet
