Murky day, new arrivals

Bottom New Piece/Kingfisher Hide

Two adult Dark-bellied Brent Geese were early for the season, no doubt disorientated by the poor weather. The adult Red-breasted Goose was also present among the Barnacle Goose flock.

Top New Piece/Zeiss Hide

Highlights today included up to 20 Pintail, 86 Wigeon, 400 Teal, 3 Curlew Sandpiper, 8 Little Stint, Spotted Redshank, 3 Greenshank over South, 145 Dunlin, c 30 Ringed Plover including the leucistic bird, 7 Ruff, varying numbers of Black-tailed Godwit, Sedge Warbler,  Yellow Wagtail, 20 Swallows,

Grounds

20+ Chiffchaff and 12+ Goldcrest and 3 mobile Grey Wagtails. A Great White Egret flew N over the car park at 0735am.

South Lake

25 Redshank, 84 Black-tailed Godwit, 90 Lapwing, 20 Snipe, 16 Ruff, 170 Shoveler, Little Grebe, 9 Pochard and 70 Tufted Duck among the highlights.

Rushy Hide

2 Ruff, Little Stint, Spotted Redshank, 21 Lapwing and 240 Teal.
