6 Heron, 12 Little Egret, 34 Curlew, flock of Dunlin, 9 Ringed Plover, 1 Little Ringed Plover and a fox along the Summer Walkway

Tuesday 12 August
Dumbles
Fifteen Cranes gathered on the foreshore this morning, a bit of 'dancing' noted, seven known territorial birds (including an un-ringed male/Ruby, Evie, Wendy/Albert and Oakie/Sherbert), eight un-ringed birds also present + Peregrine and Yellow Wagtails with the cattle.
Middle Point
Greenshank, Black-tailed Godwit and 17 Avocet on the Severn to the North, adult Yellow-legged Gull among large gulls to South and 2 Stonechat and Whinchat in the Goose House wild headland, view from Shepherds Hut Hide on seawall.
Top New Piece
Two Spoonbill, c40 Black-tailed Godwit inc the regular ringed bird, Bittern seen on the fleet island then flew to S, c70 Lapwing, Green Sandpiper, 2 Little Grebe, Great Egret + Teal, Gadwall and Shoveler.
Rushy Hide
Snipe + 3 Sand Martins among the hirundines
South Lake
Two Spotted Redshank, 29 Redshank, 22 Avocet, 5 Green Sandpiper, a few Ruff, c100 Black-tailed Godwit, flocks of Teal, Gadwall and a few Shoveler, the Tundra Bean Goose with the Greylags, Yellow Wagtail, 9 Herring Gull, 2 Pochard.
Monday 11 August
Rushy Hide
Two Garganey on the lower pond.
Tack Piece
Wood Sandpiper with 18 Green Sandpipers.
Top New Piece
Adult and immature Spoonbills.
Middle Point
Adult Grey Plover, 3 Oystercatcher, 10 Avocet, 19 Ringed Plover, c70 Dunlin, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, Great Egret, 25+ Little Egret, 5 Redshank, 160 Curlew on the mudflats at low tide, many now mobile as the tide floods, they may well settle on the Dumbles over high tide. Also a Tree Pipit and 24 Yellow Wagtails reported over the point.
Summer Walkway hedge
At least 9 Yellow Wagtails commuting between the Dumbles and Tack Piece, unusually, a House Sparrow plus a few warblers including Willow.
