Otters again

The female with two young was feeding in the South Finger Filtration beds and the South Finger Extension ditch, the were sighted from the viewing screen and Kingfisher Hide.

Top New Piece

1183 Teal, 140 Shoveler, 9 Pintail, c120 Wigeon, Cetti's Warbler, 21 Avocet, 100s Dunlin, Lapwing and Black-tailed Godwit.

Estuary Tower

Little Stint on the Dumbles scrape islands, juvenile Dark-bellied Brent with the goose flocks. Great Egret in the fields to the North.

South Finger from the path and Van de Bovenkamp Hide

69 Russian White-fronted Geese in the Tin Shed field. Water Rail from the viewing screen, Kingfisher on the perches, Kestrel on the fence and 4 Bullfinch in the hedge from the path and hides.

Tack Piece

5000+ birds at dawn, Marsh Harrier moving them about, Spotted Redshank, 50+ Redshank, 24 Ruff, Golden Plover, Lapwing, Dunlin, Wigeon, 310 Teal, Canada Geese, up to 40 Russian White-fronted Geese.

South Lake

Two Cattle and 4 Little Egret, 6 Avocet + Pochard, Tufted Duck, Teal and Shoveler.

Rushy Hide

80+ Bewick's Swans and a Whooper Swan at dawn, an Avocet fed here.
