Zeiss Hide

Top New Piece- The first returning Golden Plover was a fresh juvenile among the 125 Lapwing. The Dunlin increased to 97, all of which are in breeding plumage. 34 Avocet, 2 Oystercatcher, 79 Redshank (4 juveniles+ 2 chicks), 106 Black-tailed Godwit, a Common Sandpiper and broods of Gadwall, Mallard and Shelduck.

Bottom New Piece- a Snipe, a Green Sandpiper and a few Lapwing on the flood.

Rushy Pen

A party of over 20 Sand Martin fed with House Martins, the Avocet pair + chicks, a Crane, a Green Sandpiper, 2 Oystercatcher and 3 Lapwing.

Tack Piece

Scrape- a juvenile Little-ringed Plover and 9 Green Sandpiper.

Field- 12 Lapwing, 20+ Meadow Pipit, 5+ Skylark and 10+ Pied Wagtail as well as a flock of Starlings.

Robbie Garnett Hide- A Tawny Owl was found roosting by a flock of Blackcap and Reed Warbler, a Blackbird joined in and all were mobbing it. It was just east of the hide in the mature hedge on the north side of the bank.

Holden Tower

40+ Swallows, 2 Little Egret, 5 Oystercatcher and a flock of Curlew over the tide.

South Lake

Discovery Hide- The Crane family, 28 Lapwing, 10 Redshank, 103 Black-tailed Godwit, male and female Ruff, broods of Gadwall, a Little Grebe chick being fed by parents, broods of Shelduck and Mallard.

Hogarth Hide- good views of 4 Green Sandpiper and three Little-ringed Plover (1 adult, 2 juveniles).
