Spotted Redshank arrive

Two Spotted Redshank have arrived today, one seen and heard arriving from the North as it flew down the etuary and toward the scrapes, an adult and juvenile were locarted on the Rushy but moved to the South Lake where the adult settled in to roost among the godwits. The juvenile fed for a time but again moved off to one of the other scrapes.

Robbie Garnett Hide

25 Teal, adult Ruff, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Redshank adult and juvenile moulting to 1w, Grey Heron, 80 Greylag.

Stephen Kirk Hide

3 Shoveler, 3 Black-tailed Godwit (please note that a reserve work party may be here today).

Knott Hide

The hedges are busy with Chiffchaffs.

Middle Point

2cy Spoonbill, 11 Little Egret, 9 Avocet (5 and 4), 6 Arctic Tern (5 juvs), 18 Dunlin, 90 Curlew, 3 Wheatear, 7 Pintail with the Shelduck and a Stonechat in the reeds.

South Lake

16 Ruff, 3 juvenile Little-ringed Plover, 239 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Spotted Redshank (relocated from Rushy), 21 Redshank, 26 Starling, 7 Wigeon, 3 Snipe + 4 at Hogarth Hide, 55 Teal, 250+ Greylags, 30+ Gadwall and Little Grebe.
