Swifts and Martins + the Spoonbill

The showers brought down numbers of Swifts (100+) and hirundines and they fed over the grounds and reserve. At least 40 Swift were noted with 60 House Martins.
Middle Point
The 2cy Spoonbill (pictured in flight) was present prior to the tide and may have chosen to roost on the estuary. Also present over the tide period was 1 Whimbrel, 3 Curlew, 18+ Grey Plover, 2 Turnstone, 4 Sanderling, 14 Red Knot, 5 Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Avocet, 20+ Ringed Plover, 40+ Dunlin and a Wheatear on the foreshore.
Tack Piece
8 Wigeon, 14 Gadwall, 1 Shoveler, 2 drake Mandarin, 8 Tufted Duck, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Redshank and 1 Avocet. Two Sedge Warbler singing at Martin Smith Hide.
South Lake
A Common Tern ( with a dusky bill), 5 Avocet, Great Crested and Little Grebes.

Garganey heard, 10 Avocet, 2 Crane, 101 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Wigeon, 2 Teal, 4 Redshank.
Bottom New Piece
Singing Cuckoo, Garganey on the flood with a Black-tailed Godwit 6 Avocet and 2 Redshank.
Rushy Hide
The 2cy Mediterranean Gull was still among the Black-headed Gulls + 6 Avocet.
