The Dumbles floods again on the high and storm driven tides

A few more windblown Spring passage birds were about today with Sandwich and Arctic Tern noted. The Dumbles completely flooded on the high tides which were no doubt driven higher by the strong Westerlies.

Other sightings included the following.

Estuary Tower

Immature Spoonbill and first winter Russian White-fronted Goose still on the Dumbles

Tack Piece

2 Little-ringed Plover, White Wagtail, 5 Pied Wagtail, 13 Ringed Plover and 10 Dunlin on the floods, also 39 Curlew, 24 Wigeon, Ruff, 13 Redshank + flocks of Teal, Shoveler and Shelduck.

South Lake

Sandwich Tern, Common Sandpiper, 7 Swallow, Kingfisher, 3cy Mediterranean Gull, Avocet and Black-tailed Godwit flocks, busy Black-headed Gull colony, nesting Crane and Oystercatcher.
